About Me
Remember when you were a kid and you could not wait to be an adult?
Yeah? Me too. Being an adult was the ultimate goal.
But you regret it now, don’t you? As do I.
I’m still trying to figure out this whole adulting thing because let’s
face it, adulting is challenging. Being an adult comes with strings attached
(strings which you thought were non-existent).
Well, in the midst of all this adulting, I’ve decided to do something I
am very fond of: writing. I’ve always loved writing, whether it was delivering
a thoughtful reflection or an adjective-fuelled essay. I was the type of kid
who felt incredibly electrified when we were told to write essays in school.
On that note, I've created a blog which has encompassed some of the
crevices of my mind. Basically, my blog is a place where I share the following:
random scenarios which I have played out in my head (fiction), titbits relating
to places I’ve explored and things I’ve experimented (reviews), random musings
that have entered my mind and insisted on leaving my fingertips through the
stringing of (sometimes) refined words... Ahhh, the list is endless.
That being said, maybe it’s time I get personal and introduce myself to
you. I’m just a twenty-something year old ‘adult’ finding my voice in this very
large world. I work in the corporate world, suiting up and faking confidence
(Okay, not really).
I was born in the North Americas but I reside in South Africa. I'm an
accounting graduate with a flair for creativity (unfortunately, I cannot
divulge the details of my job because it is of a sensitive nature). Yes, I know
the combination sounds like a bad mixture of numbers and words but I promise
n0t t0 typ3 l!k3 th!5.
I have an inclination towards all things wonderful, enchanting and delicious. I
love applying and wearing makeup, although I almost never dress my face in
products during weekdays. I don’t wear makeup to conceal my flaws from this
judge-y world but I do so because I simply enjoy it.
I adore islands so much that if I had to get stuck on a deserted island,
I’d probably make myself at home to such an extent that it would become my home
(as long as I had a WiFi connection because who doesn't appreciate
technological convenience?).
I love love LOVE food. My overindulgence in all things delicious is not
always something I’m completely proud of. I wish that I could exercise
self-control when it comes to food (because truthfully, that’s the only
exercise I’d be doing).
I enjoy the scent of strong coffee (it’s amazing!), sweet chocolate,
men’s - I mean my husband’s - cologne (he said I should say that *rolls eyes*)
and nostalgia.
I love people who are sincere and easy to get along with. I’m all for
making a difference and making people smile.
I have a strong dislike towards societal expectations but truth be told?
I probably conform to those thumb-sucked norms of what is expected. Don’t get
me wrong, I don’t WANT to conform to societal expectations but it happens,
albeit subconsciously.

moments.
