Quarantine Chronicles

We’re living in a very tough (weird) time. We’re confined to our homes because normal things like visiting your loved ones or meeting for coffees are suddenly considered to be high risk.

It’s hard, there’s no sugar coating it. But at the same time, it can be a lovely time if you’re living in a safe home. Unfortunately, millions of people don’t always have that same luxury, and it’s a truly heartbreaking reality.

There are also countless people who are worried sick about their means of income. Suddenly, businesses aren’t doing well, stores can’t open, salaries are decreasing, people are getting retrenched... It’s a tough economical situation. We find ourselves wondering when will this end? When will things get back to normal?

All these worries can take a toll on you and affect your mental health. If this happens to you, I implore you to PLEASE speak to someone. Don’t allow social isolation to put you in a dark place.

That being said, I believe it’s time to speak about more positive and laid back topics. For starters, I’ve been swamped at work. It’s been so hectic, especially because I’m working from home. That, paired with household duties is surely one of the most challenging things I have ever experienced. But at the same time, I enjoy working from home.

I thought that with lockdown, I may have more time to bake, to work on my blog, to write more fiction but boy, oh boy, have I been wrong! Although, I did manage to make garlic bread (garlic bread is LIFE) and I did manage to bake a few cakes so that’s been refreshing. I had absolutely NO TIME to work on my blog and that sucked really badly. Because I’m the type of person that starts with a blog topic in my head and it grows into something exceptional from there. But it stays in my head for so long and I don’t end up having the time to put those thoughts into a post so it dissipates into nothingness.

So what have you been doing during this time? Did you manage to do all the things on your to do list or have you been so demotivated and worried, that all you wanted to do was nothing? Because either way, that’s PERFECTLY okay. It’s a tough time and you should NEVER feel pressured to suddenly do all these activities just because everyone else is. Look after yourself and stay safe!

Peace and love!

  1. I didn't quite do anything on my to-do list, seeing as college work and exams kept me so busy, and when I was done with that, I was too tired to do anything else than watch series ! Plus I really miss my partner so kindaa bit sad sometimes.
