Goodbye 2018 and Hello 2019

January 15, 2019 The Muse Drop 0 Comments

2018 seemed to whizz past us. A lot of people seemed to hate the year with so much of passion that I almost felt as if I hated the year too.

Truth be told, it was challenging for many - me included. But just because it was challenging, it doesn’t mean that it didn’t have some great moments. If I look back, I realise that 2018 actually had some amazing moments. And such is life - there’ll be some wonderful moments and some terrible moments.

That being said, I’d like to share some of the highlights and lowlights of the year (without giving away too much personal information):
- I lost some and I gained some (weight and other things)
- My husband and I went on our first local trip together, alone. Before this, we went on international trips together but never really local ones. When we did go on local trips, we went with other family members
- I started my blog
- I began to enjoy my steak “medium” and not “well-done”
- I got promoted - when I least expected it
- I was selected as a Top Achiever at work
- I made some awesome friends at work
- My husband became so busy at work that I barely got to spend time with him
- My husband and I planned the EXACT SAME THING for our anniversary
- I fell in love - with the Nutella waffle at Rocomammas
- My December holiday consisted of getting up late and sleeping late. I didn’t do much and it kind of became frustrating (with hubby always working and everyone away, I couldn’t do anything on my “What to do in December” list)

All in all, retrospectively, that was 2018 for me.

Anyway, as we begin the new year, let us all make a firm decision: No matter what life throws at us in 2019, we WILL get through it and we WILL have good moments. Sometimes a positive mindset helps a lot.

“My New Years resolution is to hit the gym, to put on weight, to lose weight, to eat better...”
The new year gives you a sense of starting over, of starting fresh, of turning to a new page. For many, it brings about a “freshness” and a sense of new beginnings.

Most people like to start their year with a list of resolutions. I don’t really make New Years resolutions. Not for any specific reason but mostly just because my life resolution is to be better than I was yesterday.

So to all my internet friends, I wish you a very happy 2019 and I truly hope that this year brings you happiness and contentment. Remember, even if there are a few bad moments, there will definitely be a few good moments.
